Getting Ready for Flu Season

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

With summer coming to an end and the start of autumn, it is time to get prepared for flu seasons again.  Even though the news will focus on swine (h1n1) flu, people should take precautions against any kind of flu during time of change in weather condition.  Check out government’s official site to get a best practice for flu prevention.

Here are some recommendations:
-  Avoid contact with people who are sick
-  Keep your distance away from others when you are ill.  Stay away from school or office when you are ill.
-  Wash your hand constantly
-  Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hand.  Many times germs are spread this way.
-  Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
-  Exercise regularly and get ample amount of sleep.
-  Drink plenty of fluids everyday.

(P.s. if you are concerned regarding Swine (h1n1) flu, check out the CDC site for recommendations! In serious cases, it is said that treatment with oseltamivir or zanamivir is recommended.)
