Saw a very touching story over the labor day weekend regarding an engineer and how he invented a breakthrough medical device.
The guy in the story Robert Goldman was a successful entrepreneur that wanted to save his sister from terminal cancer. Even though all the “experts” tell him that what he tries to accomplish can never be done, he refused to give up.
According to his word:
Tumors develop a feeder vessel that provides them with blood. I came up with an idea that if you could make a catheter small enough, you could thread it through a patient’s blood vessels and directly into the tumor’s feeder. You would then be able to direct chemotherapy straight into the tumor.
Even though his invention failed to save his sister, hopefully it will save a lot more people who suffered through tumor diseases.
